On April 14th, 2012 the Hawg Hunters held there second tournament of the year at Lake of the Ozarks. 13 boats took out of Shawnee Bend with the weather being great for about a half an hour and then all the rain started and didn’t stop for the first four hours!! The tournament which started as a wash out ended, being rather nice with the weather in the mid 70’s and partly cloudy skies. It really was a different day after 12p.m. There were some nice limits brought in. The total number of fish for 26 guys was 83, with a weight of 209.18 pounds. With that being said, big bass of the day was a 5.50# beauty brought in by Joe Hoffmeyer, which netted him $78. The team of Jim Brown and Gary Dingledine brought in the best combined weight of 27.80#’s which got them a check for first place, worth $314. Bryan Loseman and Dale DePalm round out the monies, grabbing a check worth $210 for their combined weight of 25.94#’s. Ryan Hohl and Gary Morrison took third place earning them some “wood” as they call it, with a total of 23.19#’s.
The weights really show that none of the big females came out to play this weekend but maybe they will show up for one of our members in the Big Bass Bash which is the 21st and 22nd of April. Good Luck to all of you that are fishing!!
